Karbo Explains Delay in NPP Conference Start

Anthony Abayifaa Karbo attributed the delay in the NPP national executive elections to last-minute meetings. He chaired the NPP National Delegates Conference Organising Committee. Delegates arrived late because several aspirants wanted to deliver final messages.

Karbo spoke with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Citi FM. He noted that candidates for positions like General Secretary and National Youth Organiser were involved.

“On the morning of the conference, delegates were on their way,” Karbo explained. “Aspirants wanted to give them their last messages.”

He arrived early and called delegates who had not yet come. They informed him that party figures were still meeting with them.

“They said, ‘Oh, John Boadu has just come to give us a message,’” he recounted. “They were told that Ajaku and Nanabanyin would also speak.”

Karbo noted that delegates waited as various party figures addressed them. This contributed to the late start of the conference. “It’s like when your boys are going to write their BECEs,” he said, referring to pep talks given before exams.
