Andy Dosty and Vincent Assafuah in Visa Scandal Dispute

Media personality Andy Dosty has reacted angrily to claims made by Vincent Ekow Assafuah. The Old Tafo MP alleged that the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) submitted Dosty’s name for visa facilitation. This claim was made during a Minority press conference.

Assafuah, who is the Ranking Member of Parliament’s Youth and Sports Committee, stated that Dosty was among those listed for visa assistance ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He called for the dismissal of Minister of Sports Kofi Adams and GTA CEO Maame Efua Houadjeto while police investigations are ongoing.

In response, Andy Dosty denied these allegations. He asserted that he arranged his own visa for the World Cup. He paid his own fees and scheduled his appointment independently.

Dosty expressed concern over what he termed unfounded claims damaging his reputation. He mentioned he is consulting with his lawyer about possible action against these allegations.

Assafuah maintained that Dosty’s name was indeed on a list submitted by the GTA to the US Embassy. However, he clarified that being on this list did not guarantee visa approval for anyone included.

He emphasized there were initial plans to take certain individuals to the tournament but did not confirm visas had been secured. Assafuah challenged Maame Efua to deny the existence of this list if it were untrue.

Meanwhile, police are investigating this matter to identify any wrongdoing.
